Em 12 de dezembro de 1897, Belo Horizonte foi inaugurada para substituir Ouro Preto na condio de capital de Minas Gerais. O responsvel pelo projeto estrutural da cidade foi o engenheiro e urbanista Aaro Reis, que delimitou as ruas no interior de uma grande via, hoje a Avenida do Contorno. Na dcada de 1960, BH apresentou um crescimento populacional inesperado e ultraou a marca de 1 milho de habitantes.

In 1897, Belo Horizonte was established to replace Ouro Preto as the state capital. The urbanist and engineer Aaro Reis was the responsible to sketch the project of the brand new city, bounding the streets and avenues inside a great avenue that rounded the whole city. In the 1960`s with an unexpected populational grow ed the mark of 1 million residents.

Pelo menos oito obras de interveno urbana esto em andamento em Belo Horizonte. As vias de trnsito de nibus das Avenidas Antnio Carlos, Pedro I, Cristiano Machado, Tereza Cristina e de reas da Regio Central, alm de intervenes na Av. Pedro II e Vias 210 e 710 somam, ao todo, mais de 1 bilho de reais gastos.

O Mineiro foi o segundo estdio a ficar pronto para a Copa das Confederaes. A reabertura foi em 21 de dezembro de 2012. A obra total do estdio custou R$ 666,3 milhes. O jogo inaugural ocorreu em 3 de fevereiro. Na ocasio, o Cruzeiro derrotou o Atltico por 2 a 1 em duelo vlido pela terceira rodada do Campeonato Mineiro. O pblico da partida foi de 52.989 pagantes e a renda superou os R$ 3,6 milhes.

The stadium was closed for two years when it was reformed to host the international tournament, costing R$ 666,3 million. The reopening match happened in February, when Cruzeiro defeated Atletico playing for the state tournament. The match had more than 50.000 spectators and the event income overcame R$ 3,6 millions.
